Why you want to transfer your knowledge to others

To be honest, I’m not driven by the transfer of knowledge to others, I’m driven by helping others discover and realise their unique strengths and value contribution to the human condition that is change. Success within a change environment is a fine balance of different things, it’s almost an alchemy between self-awareness, future possibilities, role modelling and empathy. My experience around change has driven me to work with leaders to help them to see their place at the centre of change and therefore in the spotlight of a cultures decision to shift. A saying a often share with leaders is: Culture shifts by looking up. A quote I hold dear to my work is. Move at the pace of change

Why you are excited/why you think it is a worthwhile use of your time to be part of Capability for Change

We are at a unique point in history. Ending one industrial revolution (the digitalisation era) and beginning another (the re-humanisation era). Most organisations are still trying to navigate digitalisation, and now face both the exponential growth of digitalisation through AI and the emergence of generational Alpha closely linked to a greater consciousness of the environment and planet. Wow! Could we be in a more exciting phase of global systemic change? I think not – I’m here to be a part of that in any way I can.

Your favourite technique/belief about the success of change in an organisation

It’s not what you do, it’s who you are that is where the change begins and happens. This belief is central to my work and is supported by a set of principles of practice some of which include:
Actions inform Insights – As we cling onto old beliefs that we must see and prove change before venturing onto the path, this cannot be further from the truth in this new AI enabled era. We must recognise that actions and experiments provide data to help us home in on the best path forward.

Practice makes progress – Consistency, routines and repetition create momentum but also create the building blocks for shifting our mindset and identity.

The experiences that have created this knowledge – organisations you have worked for; jobs you have had; countries you have worked in

I spent over 20 years working in the financial services industry, developing employees and leaders. In 2015, I launched Briggs Performance Consulting, which aims to empower individuals to leverage self-awareness and emotional intelligence to find meaning and purpose in their work. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in 2015 and my Master’s in Organization Development in 2017, where I became interested in change management.

Interesting things you get to do because you enjoy sharing your knowledge – articles you have written; books you have written; events you have spoken at

I have worked extensively across New Zealand and Australia as well as UK and Europe. I have also had the privilege to work in the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe.

I have worked with the SES leaders across Australian Government on assessing and developing modern mindset.

I have taught digital leadership and AI mindset across the UK government public sector and health sector as well globally across the financial sector including Papua New Guinea, Singapore, China, Indonesia and Africa.

I serve as a master mentor for entrepreneurs wanting to scale their businesses, which inevitably is a transformation process
