Estie Briggs
EQ Coach, Change Consultant & Founder, Briggs Performance Consulting
I am naturally wired for knowledge sharing. Whenever I learn something new and valuable, I always think about how I can teach it to others so that they can benefit from it as well. Sharing knowledge is a core value of mine, and I consider it to be my “special purpose.”
According to Peter Senge, “Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes,” and I firmly believe in this.
Aside from my passion for sharing knowledge, I love connecting with interesting people. I am excited to be part of Capability for Change and to work with Mel, whose work I admire. I discovered the collaborative and empathetic application of change management during my Agile Change course, and I am eager to learn more.

I believe that the best approaches to managing change are adaptable and human-centered. Organizations that prioritize their people and consider their unique needs and experiences are more likely to succeed in implementing change effectively.
I spent over 20 years working in the financial services industry, developing employees and leaders. In 2015, I launched Briggs Performance Consulting, which aims to empower individuals to leverage self-awareness and emotional intelligence to find meaning and purpose in their work. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in 2015 and my Master’s in Organization Development in 2017, where I became interested in change management.
In September 2023, I presented “A Deep Dive into the Nuances of Emotional Intelligence” at https://www.hrstarconference.com/sf/.
Helen Palmer
Experience Designer, Questo
Thomas Edison offers wisdom when he says “I regard it as a criminal waste of time to go through the slow and painful ordeal of ascertaining things for one’s self if these same things have already been ascertained and made available by others.” I really do feel a sense of waste and selfishness if knowledge is not shared, especially with those who have a critical need.
It’s like playtime for adults with a marvellous purpose! My multi-disciplinary capabilities (a rich combination of experience, knowledge, skill set, mindset and tool set) are being valued and utilised to make a positive impact. In the first instance working creatively and collaboratively in team design activities. And by creating something fresh and potent to serve individuals in organisations as they quest to develop their own change capabilities.

The biggest improvements come from small things done consistently over time in strategic places.
~ David Allen
Some would say – “don’t sweat the small stuff!” Other’s might say – “the devil is in the detail”. And like many ‘truths’, context matters and paradoxes persist. I do think there is a tendency in organisational change initiatives to overvalue and be seduced by big things that are showy and appear with a bang, and disappear as quickly in the smoke. Success that has staying power and affects truly important human things, can come from small things – if you have eyes to see and a willingness to accept, believe in and genuinely support such possibilities.

I believe an effective change journey starts with a complete vision of success. This vision needs to consider as many aspects of change as practical. It also needs to include the human response to change. As I work with organisations and teams to craft their change journey, I want to make sure the destination is inspiring and the journey is achievable.
As a consultant, I have supported large scale change initiatives in the construction, utilities and defence sectors all based in the UK or USA. I have been a lead consultant on the creation of change tool kit with the NHS in the UK.
I have also supported organisational design work in various organisations, large and small within the UK.
Previously I was:
The Head of Change and the Head of Talent for the UK for National Grid (these were two different roles)
I was the lead for employee engagement for Bentley
Mel Ross
Founder, Adapt2digital
To be honest, I’m not driven by the transfer of knowledge to others, I’m driven by helping others discover and realise their unique strengths and value contribution to the human condition that is change. Success within a change environment is a fine balance of different things, it’s almost an alchemy between self-awareness, future possibilities, role modelling and empathy. My experience around change has driven me to work with leaders to help them to see their place at the centre of change and therefore in the spotlight of a cultures decision to shift. A saying a often share with leaders is: Culture shifts by looking up. A quote I hold dear to my work is. Move at the pace of change
We are at a unique point in history. Ending one industrial revolution (the digitalisation era) and beginning another (the re-humanisation era). Most organisations are still trying to navigate digitalisation, and now face both the exponential growth of digitalisation through AI and the emergence of generational Alpha closely linked to a greater consciousness of the environment and planet. Wow! Could we be in a more exciting phase of global systemic change? I think not – I’m here to be a part of that in any way I can.

It’s not what you do, it’s who you are that is where the change begins and happens. This belief is central to my work and is supported by a set of principles of practice some of which include:
Actions inform Insights – As we cling onto old beliefs that we must see and prove change before venturing onto the path, this cannot be further from the truth in this new AI enabled era. We must recognise that actions and experiments provide data to help us home in on the best path forward.
Practice makes progress – Consistency, routines and repetition create momentum but also create the building blocks for shifting our mindset and identity.
I have worked extensively across New Zealand and Australia as well as UK and Europe. I have also had the privilege to work in the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe.
I have worked with the SES leaders across Australian Government on assessing and developing modern mindset.
I have taught digital leadership and AI mindset across the UK government public sector and health sector as well globally across the financial sector including Papua New Guinea, Singapore, China, Indonesia and Africa.
I serve as a master mentor for entrepreneurs wanting to scale their businesses, which inevitably is a transformation process
Myra Clarke
Director, MC Change Consulting Ltd
I’ve worked as a Change Lead for over sixteen years and irrespective of the sector noticed similar patterns of behaviour, common pitfalls re-occurring but also seen some outstanding best practice.
I believe that by transferring knowledge and coaching through change I can help individuals and organisations deliver better outcomes but, as importantly, give them a set of resources to handle future change.
I have seen colleagues with burnout, resilience and wellbeing challenges and others who have excelled, growing into their role and gaining both confidence and career defining experiences… so by transferring knowledge and offering coaching support I can help foster a change community and help bring balance for the individuals leading, sponsoring and managing change.
Building Change Capability is really important, I genuinely believe sharing our knowledge will help industries save money, increase productivity and get better outcomes.
Understanding the human experience to change is pivotal in embedding new ways of working and I hope that my lessons learned can help others.
There is also the extra benefit of developing CM talent and helping it be viewed as a critical core competence within organisations
I am excited to be part of this community as it allows us to all learn from each other and creates a sense of belonging – we are “in it together”

One of my change colleagues taught me “Stop Start Continue” in my first change role – I am eager to get it back in and used widely again so that we get organisations to consider what they are going to stop doing rather than adding more and more change onto the organisation and individuals.
It’s a very simple but highly effective technique both for shaping the change strategy and engaging stakeholders in the change journey.
A qualified coach, change lead and HR professional with extensive experience leading change and transformation initiatives across a diverse range of organisations, and including 7 Workday implementations.
Having spent my early career years at Xerox, renowned for its people development and for using their experienced leaders to mentor and encourage those developing, it’s a model that works well and it has inspired me to “put something back” to benefit others as I benefited myself.
I spent 6 years working in the Change Team at Unilever, picking up skills from inspirational change leads and practiced my trade. Since leaving Unilever I have led multiple changes in global organisations including Centrica, Arup, DS Smith and NCC Cyber Security.
The ICF’s accredited Coaching Academy’s Diploma enabled me to hone my coaching skills and allowed me to move from full-time in-house change lead to leading a Change Management Coaching Practice.
My purpose is to help organisations put people at the heart of their change, providing time and space to enable better outcomes AND leave a legacy to be better equipped for future changes.
It is important that lessons are learned (good and bad) from every change intervention and that capabilities are developed. My practice to date has been to develop initiatives but also leave a legacy – I have experience of building change toolkits, starting up change networks, facilitating team events, conducting lessons learned so that a change management trail of techniques is left behind and individuals are equipped for the next change.
