Why you want to transfer your knowledge to others

I am naturally wired for knowledge sharing. Whenever I learn something new and valuable, I always think about how I can teach it to others so that they can benefit from it as well. Sharing knowledge is a core value of mine, and I consider it to be my “special purpose.”

According to Peter Senge, “Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes,” and I firmly believe in this.

Why you are excited/why you think it is a worthwhile use of your time to be part of Capability for Change

Aside from my passion for sharing knowledge, I love connecting with interesting people. I am excited to be part of Capability for Change and to work with Mel, whose work I admire. I discovered the collaborative and empathetic application of change management during my Agile Change course, and I am eager to learn more.

What your specialist areas of knowledge are:

  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
  • Agile Change Management
  • Building Cohesive Teams
  • Productive Conflict

Your favourite technique/belief about the success of change in an organisation

I believe that the best approaches to managing change are adaptable and human-centered. Organizations that prioritize their people and consider their unique needs and experiences are more likely to succeed in implementing change effectively.

The experiences that have created this knowledge – organisations you have worked for; jobs you have had; countries you have worked in

I spent over 20 years working in the financial services industry, developing employees and leaders. In 2015, I launched Briggs Performance Consulting, which aims to empower individuals to leverage self-awareness and emotional intelligence to find meaning and purpose in their work. I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in 2015 and my Master’s in Organization Development in 2017, where I became interested in change management.

Interesting things you get to do because you enjoy sharing your knowledge – articles you have written; books you have written; events you have spoken at

In September 2023, I presented “A Deep Dive into the Nuances of Emotional Intelligence” at https://www.hrstarconference.com/sf/.
